Devon Historic churches walk 2021 from Luffincott to Tetcott

This year Devon Historic churches day took place on September 11th but Tetcott church PCC decided to support this event on Sunday 5th September to coincide with our monthly service which is always the 1st Sunday in the month.

We started with a service at St James church Luffincott.  The church no longer has regular worship and is now cared for by The Churches conservation trust.  The service reflected on Summer.  We shared stories about our holidays and events we had been part of through the summer and also talked about nature we had observed including the many butterflies that have recently enjoyed the good weather.

19 people plus 1 dog attended the service and when the service had finished most then enjoyed a lovely walk along the footpath.  The path took us past Tetcott Mill, through Mill wood and then it was a warm climb up Kennel lane to reach Tetcott church where a wonderful spread of cakes was waiting for us along with plenty of tea.

It was a very pleasant afternoon and £150 sponsorship was collected for doing the walk which will be shared between Devon Historic churches trust and Tetcott church.

Many thanks to those who attended.
